[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 3-25

Hello All,

Asian propagation improved dramatically on the low band here this morning, with the Korean station 603-HLSA managing its best signal of 2014 during maximum sunrise enhancement around 1343. The rest of the band sounded fairly average, though, with the high band seemingly ignored by the propagation turnaround.

The session started off in total darkness at 1310 here with the usual regulars 594-JOAK, 603-HLSA, 972-HLCA and 1566-HLAZ all having fair audio in and out, a rather routine situation here this week (and usually a situation which hasn't improved very much, with increasing daylight). Unlike the past few days 603-HLSA seemed to get a huge boost from the increasing daylight around 1335, though, along with less dramatic boosts to 648-VOR and 657-Pyongyang. By 1343 HLSA was managing its best signal of the new year with Korean pop music, sounding very much like something straight out of October. Although 603-China had given HLSA some weak competition early (around 1315) the Chinese co-channel bailed very quickly, leaving the frequency to the KBS2 powerhouse for the duration of the session. 648-VOR reached a brief fair level with its Chinese service around 1346, and 657-Pyongyang hit a good peak with its orchestral music at 1349. 594-JOAK (very good at 1345) and 738-BEL2 (fair at 1!
 347) also received moderate boosts from the low-band bonanza, and 972-HLCA reached good levels during several peaks from 1345-1355. The high band sounded pretty average during the increasing daylight, though, with 1566-HLAZ only reaching fair levels, and 1377-CNR1, 1503-JOUK, 1575-VOA and 1593-CNR1 all barely managing to get past the domestic splatter with poor to fair peaks at best. The propagation-boosted low band Asians stuck around until about 1400 this morning, by which time the anemic high band TP's had already bailed. Best signal of the morning (by far) was from 603-HLSA at 1343, reaching a very good to excellent level with Korean pop music.
