Re: [IRCA] Oklahoma TP DX 3/11/14

Richard, it's great to have you back! We have missed your TP reports from Oklahoma, and certainly hope that you will have a complete recovery after ankle surgery.

This morning's Asian propagation wasn't quite up to yesterday's standard, but several of the NHK big guns were doing quite well (including 774-JOUB, which you noticed). Your Ultralight radio TP-DXing results in Oklahoma have always been very impressive, and provide a special insight into transoceanic propagation far away from any ocean coast. Both on Longwave and Medium Wave, the rich soil in your location seems to be giving you a special edge in transoceanic propagation. Have a great day!

73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA)

After four months of recuperation following reconstructive surgery on my ankle,
I finally returned home this past weekend. And, I'm happy to be back.

I listened for TP signals this morning hearing only JOUB on 774 kHz. Its signal
was peaking at a fair level at 1140 UTC. The fading signal was heard until
1232.

Receivers: Tecsun PL-310 plus 7.5-inch ferrite stick, and PL-606 with 7-inch
FSL.

Good DX all.

Richard Allen,
near Perry OK USA.
