[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 1-18 (Conclusion)

Hello All,

As reported earlier, it was a pretty wild morning here during sunrise enhancement, with the high point a legendary signal from 1593-CNR1 around 1530 (the strongest Chinese station ever received here during 7 years of TP-DXing). Dennis also noticed 1593-CNR1's huge signal at the time, although it didn't seem to have nearly as much power for Nigel or Bruce.

My own session started around 1450, when there was already a nice mix of 603-China and the dominant 603-HLSA in progress, along with good signals from 558-HLQH, 594-JOAK and 1566-HLAZ. At the 1500 TOH 603-HLSA managed fair to good signals for the ID and 3 + 1 pips, temporarily shaking off the Chinese co-channel. 603-HLSA stayed pretty strong throughout the rest of the session until 1550, although it didn't get the monster high band boost like 1593.

The 1593-CNR1 signal was pretty modest in the 1590-Seattle spatter until around 1520, when it began to pound in with unprecedented strength. The other high band regulars like 1377-CNR1, 1503-JOUK, 1566-HLAZ and 1575-VOA did not benefit from the same monster propagation, and stayed at average strength throughout sunrise enhancement (fair to good signals, in and out). Around 1530 the CNR1 signal on 1593 became so strong that the 1590-Seattle splatter became irrelevant, and both carriers (the nulled 1590 and the favored 1593) had approximately equal strength on the modified ICF-2010 spotting receiver. This had happened rarely here with the NHK big guns on 594 and 747 and 972-HLCA previously, but never with a Chinese station. The monster signal from 1593-CNR1 was even fairly strong on the 7.5" loopstick PL-380, all by itself (without the 12" FSL), and continued well past 1600 here. Overall it was a pretty wild morning-- and one of the most exciting Puyallup sessions in recent m!
 emory.
