Re: [IRCA] OT Light bulbs

Fast forward ten or fifteen years.
We will see posts like "Old Light Bulb Found"
I saw an old deak lamp at a tag sale and there was a light bulb in it.
'I carefully took it home and it works.
I now have it on a voltage reducer so it will last longer.
So good to see the old light again!"

or even better:

Prison talk:

"What are you in for?"
"Smuggling light bulbs from Poland."
(and they all moved away from me)

Happy New Year!  Karl  N2KZ

If they can circumvent the regulations by defining it as a heat lamp, I don't see why they cant sell them here. (Next step is, they will outlaw heat lamps, hi).

Another alternative:  A German company is manufacturing something called the "Heatball", sold for heat, it is essentially a good old fashioned incandescent. their website is  heatball.de/en/verwendurg.php    (or verwendung.php if I read it wrong??)  'Might be worth checking into. ms

Anyway, there are quite a few different ones. The LED ones have come down in price. Are the LED ones noise free? Anyone try them?  Thanks. I am preparing myself on what is coming down the pike after the first of the year when most will switch. I wonder if there will be more noise issues?
