Re: [IRCA] OT Light bulbs

"...dung" it is Mike. Thanks for linking to this; I had a good laugh. Much of Canada is quite a cold place in the winter, so these might slip past the import commissars. Coincidentally, we Canadians would then also be able to find our way around on those dark winter nights. Might have to rewire our houses for 220V sockets though. I'm sure that a government subsidy could be arranged, given that they want to save the rainforests.

Happy New Year.

Nick

I'm glad to see so much feedback, pro and con regarding the new generation lights. Another alternative: A German company is manufacturing something called the "Heatball", sold for heat, it is essentially a good old fashioned incandescent. their website is heatball.de/en/verwendurg.php (or verwendung.php if I read it wrong??) 'Might be worth checking into. ms

Anyway, there are quite a few different ones. The LED ones have come down in price. Are the LED ones noise free? Anyone try them? Thanks. I am preparing myself on what is coming down the pike after the first of the year when most will switch. I wonder if there will be more noise issues?
