I presume you've looked at SpectraVue, that comes with the RFSpace 
radios, Les?  That can give  you five (not necessarily) top of the 
hour recordings of a minute long, up to much longer, in one minute 
increments.   That's a start, for figuring out what you're going to 
do with all that data.   Or, you could just record continuously all 
night, specify short file sizes, and play back only the files that 
are of interest, as they are all time-stamped.

SpectraVue is quite bullet-proof, simple, but for me, a nice piece of 
software.   The more elegant / complex SDR-Console program will play 
files recorded by SpectraVue, but it's always under development it 
seems, so I don't know what its own recording and playback 
capabilities are at present.
