Similar to yesterday, with nothing very exciting (in fact downright
dead at times), until about 1510UT when the upper portion of the band
lit up, with some action at the bottom also. I'm glad Dennis got a
crack at it this morning, although my impression was that splatter
was worse today, so not as much usable signal, and that some of the
JJ big guns made an occasional comeback.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
1503 JOUK man talking //567 1525UT until past 1540UT
1566 HLAZ woman in CC at 1539UT, but another carrier about 33Hz high
was messing it up, man talking, maybe CC? Hubei RGD is listed at
around that offset.
1575 VoA Couple of VoA IDs at 1530UT at lower level than this, by
1540UT, it was strong w/man in SE Asian language, but alos someone
else with mx?
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
279 R. Rossii w/woman in RR 1451UT over local noise. Cut carrier
within seconds of 1500UT, with quick mention of R.Rossii
603 HLSA laid back ballad 1532UT, woman in CC? underneath.
774 JOUB CC lessons 1356UT, pips on hour, musical intro to KK lessons
828 JOBB woman in JJ briefly 1515UT
972 HLCA man and woman in KK 1519UT
1044 CRI woman in JJ //7220 1516UT
1593 CNR1 woman in CC //6125 at 1537UT mixing erratically with man in JJ, NHK2
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
567 JOIK jazzy guitar 1529UT //594 which was a similar strength
648 ? woman in KK ?? 1533UT; VoR broadcast not in PAL?
1242 JOLF likely man in JJ 1527UT
1323 CRI woman in RR 1520UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :
639 CNR1 woman talking then man //6125 1535UT
1116 CNR5? CC talk?? by woman, 1504UT and 1521UT also
1134 Korea? man talking 1516UT, KK inflection?
1179 woman talking, mx also? 1518UT
1314 ? male ballad 1514UT
1359 CNR1 woman and man in CC 1526UT, snatches //1593.
1386 NHK2? woman talking 1528UT, but no NHK2 parallels available
1404 JOQL man talking 1524UT //1287, a new one at home I'm pretty sure
1422 JORF? deep voiced man along with woman 1531UT, strong, but
splatter was stronger
1476 unID laid back male vocal mx 1529UT
1593 NHK2 woman talking //828 1521UT
1557 Taiwan? instrumental mx 1529, woman talking, CC inflection 1543UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):
558 612 621 909 945 954 1008 1089 1098 1206 1224 1251 1296 1377 1485 1494
best wishes,
Nick
