[IRCA] Alberta TP/DU for 20 Oct 2013

  I got my wish, and was able to compare the two sites with more signals
today, as things continued to improve.    Stronger signals and more of them
than yesterday.

567   JAPAN  JOIK Sapporo    Fair to good in Dunmore, poor in Lamont
594   JAPAN  JOAK Tokyo     Good signal in both locations, though was more
pleasant listening in Lamont, as the IBOC interference was much more
noticable in Dunmore
666   JAPAN  JOBK Osaka    Bits of conversation at 1357.  First time heard
this season
693   JAPAN  JOAB Tokyo     Good solid signal, second only to 774
702   JAPAN   In Dunmore NHK was in the clear, with poor-fair audio at
1341.  Meanwhile Lamont had no audio, but multiple carriers.
747   JAPAN  JOIB Sapporo   Another good solid signal in Dunmore, and even
pretty good in Lamont, in spite of CBX splatter from 740.
774   JAPAN  JOUB Akita      Good, bordering on VG, and the strongest of
the Japanese this morning
819 KOREA,N  rose to fair level for a couple of minutes at 1343
828  JAPAN  JOBB Osaka   Good signal in Dunmore, and even managed very
faint traces of audio in Lamont through the 830 splatter.
864  unID, strong carrier but only very weak audio with man and woman
speaking at 1334.
873  JAPAN JOGB Kumamoto   Fair to good in Dunmore, but just traces in
Lamont through splatter from 880.
891  unID, Very weak audio, pretty sure it was NHK at 1342
945 CHINA CNR1 with fair audio at 1329 in Lamont.  Traces at best in
Dunmore.
954 JAPAN JOKR Tokyo, fair audio, peaking around 1344.
963 unID, very weak with music and man speaking.  (Only in Lamont)
972  KOREA,S  HLCA Danjing , strong all morning, nearly as good as 774.
981  CHINA, weak with presumed CNR1 at 1348
1017 CHINA, CRI,weak, with woman speaking in Korean.
1044 CHINA, CRI, poor-fair in Japanese during 1335-1345 time period.
1071 JAPAN NHK pips at 1400, but that was about it.
1089 JAPAN JOHB Sendai, weak at 1318
1107 unID traces of Chinese style music noted at 1334 in Lamont.
1116 AUSTRALIA  4BC, poor with conversation between 2 men at 1325.
1134 unID  Fair strength with woman and man speaking, but too much 1130
splatter to determine much.
1188 JAPAN JOKP Kitami, poor at 1343
1197 unID, traces of talk by a woman at 1320
1206 CHINA traces of audio from 1321, never better than poor.
1287 JAPAN  JOHR Sapporo, quite good at times, fading to nearly nothing at
others.
1323 unID, weak talk at 1321  (suspect CRI)
1422 JAPAN  JORF Yokohama, weak, with Japanese talk at 1333
1566 KOREA, S  Good signal from 1300 tune in to past 1400
1575  THAILAND Poor-fair, better at Dunmore.
1593 CHINA  CNR1 man in Chinese at 1402.  Fair in Lamont, but only faint
traces in Dunmore.

Things were pretty similar between the two sites but overall, China did
better in Lamont, with Japan doing better in Dunmore.   Also heard the
first Alaskans this season, with 780 and 850 from Nome both being heard as
well as 750 KFQD from Anchorage.  4BC was the anomaly, as it was heard in
both locations, but no evidence noted of any other DUs
