[IRCA] TP 8 Oct, back to Victoria version

Had to be early to work today, so took a bit of a break from listening, and fortunately so did the recorder to a large degree (mind of its own). But there was a bit of evidence of the Chinese resurgence, even here (see 936), and a first logging of 738 Taiwan this season, weak though it may have been. With the signal strength recorder, one could see bursts of signals appearing across the band at various times from 1230UT onwards; once more, erratic was the name of the game.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

774 JOUB man in JJ 1402UT
828 JOBB man in JJ 1407UT
972 HLCA man in KK 1402UT
1287 JOHR man in JJ 1408UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

594 JOAK man in JJ 1405UT; probably better at times, just not when I was listening
747 JOIB man in JJ 1403UT
963 CRI man in RR 1407UT
1053 KK jammer 1401UT
1566 HLAZ man in CC 1427UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

279 R. Rossii man in RR 1401UT
567 JOIK man in JJ 1405UT
612 4QR likely with woman in DU EE 1401UT
936 Anhui? woman in CC 1407UT
1242 JOLF likely, man in JJ 1410UT
1323 CRI man in RR 1404UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

648 unID instrumental mx and man talking, too murky for language 1401UT, though sounded almost DU EE 738 Taiwan Fisheries, woman talking, CC inflection 1425UT //1143 which wasn't much better
864 woman tlaking JJ inflection 1407UT not //1287
891 JOHK man in JJ //594 1404UT
1044 woman talking maybe JJ inflection??? 1402UT
1188 JOKP man in JJ //594 1409UT
1314 woman talking 1424UT too weak for language guess

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

189 603 756 918 1008 1251 1476

best wishes,

Nick
