Re: [IRCA] TWR-1566 Benin

Tim Tromp, Jim Renfrew, et. al.

Was wondering why I didn't get the e-mail alerts on TWR Benin thru the NRCDXAS list.

It seems an incorrect e-mail address for your postings was used of dxtips@xxxxxxxxxxx

Correct e-mail address is dxtip@xxxxxxxxxxx (no 's')

I also make this error frequently.

1566 TWR Benin coming in surprisingly well over the terrible
thunderstorm noise here. English announcements and now into a song with
consistent audio for the last few minutes. No other TAs noted right
now, but 783 was in last night with occasional audio at this time (0330
UTC). This might be my best copy of 1566 to date.

Awesome, hearing it through the noise with attenuation. First time
received here, so a new country. Thanks for the tip. Recognizable hymn at
2356 EDT (0356z) so this is QSLable.

Great Jim! They are still going strong here, over 30 minutes now with
steady audio with very little fade. TA's never come in like this here,
so this is a bit exciting, and the local music a little bit ago was
awesome to hear.

No sign of it in Seattle. Not yet anyway.

By 0415 it has faded down into the noise, though at 0425 I note a female
singer or chorus.

In Newfoundland this is a bit of a pest, but I'm glad to hear it here!

Thanks again for the timely tip. Imagine that, a new MW country in August!

Jim
