Hello All,
It was a better morning for Asian DX than yesterday here, but not by very much. A lackluster sunrise enhancement brought 594-JOAK, 972-HLCA, 1566-HLAZ and 1575-VOA out of the noise from 1415-1435, with all of these big guns reaching a fair level (in and out) at times. 1575-VOA was again the most vibrant of the bunch, but with its typical pattern of fading in and out every 10 seconds (or so). 1566-HLAZ was comatose until around 1433, when peak sunrise enhancement brought it up to an anemic level. 594-JOAK and 972-HLCA were both struggling to get out of the noise, managing to reach feeble audio in between deep fades.
It wasn't exactly another "dreary" session, but far from exciting. In the overall picture, though, I suppose that as long as another TP-DXer (like Nick) is also willing to track down these marginal Asians every morning, we can continue to ignore the evidence that this long-running DX season is finally on its last legs.
1575 VOA Ban Rassom, Thailand Fair Asiatic language
