There's no question that there are relevant AM stations - probably a good many of them. But the question isn't on an individual station level. The question is whether AM - as it is currently in the broadest sense is, given declining audiences and for most people under about 35 the overall only dim awareness of AM is the problem. Most people in that age group if they think of AM at all, think in terms of static and interference right up there with lack of formats of interest to younger people. That's what I mean, and I think that's what the writer meant as well.
