At first, I was puzzled as to what you meant by "plastic frame", but now looking at an online photo of the back of the Quantum Loop V2.0, I see what you mean.  The frame is identical to the one on the Quantum QX loop that I used to own.  However, the QX Pro that I currently own is not a standard QX Pro -- whoever had it before me replaced the 9 volt holder (with built-in unbreakable leads) with a battery clamp and floating-wire leads.  And now that those wires have broken a second time, I'm going to have it shipped back to Florida so Gerry Thomas can stick the original standard plastic frame back onto it (which I will wait to do until t-storm season is in full swing and I have less of an urge to DX MWand LW).  To hold me over until then, I'm going to have someone here in town solder both of those wires back onto the clamp, and after that, I will figure out a way to make sure the battery terminals touch the clamp (enough to activate the loop) without
 having to snap the terminals on completely.

I don't let my 9V battery snap into the connector on the QX.  I just snap it into the plastic frame and it is held tightly against the battery terminals.  Works fine.  There is minimal current flow.  

First time I used it, I snapped the battery fully into the connector.  Nearly broke it trying to get it out.

Well, I've gone and done it again.  For the second time in recent months, while changing the 9-volt battery that powers my Quantum QX
 Pro loop antenna, I've managed to break the clasp (the one that snaps onto the top of a 9-volt battery) apart from the negative wire that goes into the back of the base.  And this time, I managed to break off the positive wire, as well.  What I've been doing when switching out 9-volts is to take my index finger and thumb and pull the clasp off the battery.  Should I be using a flathead screwdriver, or something else, to pry it off?  Somehow, I'm using too much force, but I can't think of any other way.
