[IRCA] W4HM Discussion Of Daily Solar Space And Geomagnetic Weather

W4HM DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-

For Saturday February 23, 2013

Solar activity is moderate as far as the emergence of the number of new 
sunspot groups. Currently there are 4 new un-numbered sunspot groups and 4 
existing numbered sunspot groups.

Solar activity is moderate as far as the number of solar flares, 6 occurred. 
The largest solar flare in magnitude was a small in size C4.7, which 
occurred at approximately N10W88 and associated with sunspot group #11678.

The daily solar flux index (SFI) "had" been at or above 100 for 22 
consecutive days but has now fallen under 100, currently (NOAA) at 99.6.

The daily sunspot number (SSN) has been below 100 for 4 consecutive days, 
currently (NOAA) at 56.

The geomagnetic field has been at other than quiet for 3 consecutive days 
with the Kp (planetary) index reaching a 3 for 3 hours, which is unsettled 
geomagnetic conditions.

As collected by Potsdam Germany WDC the 3 hour Kp (planetary) intervals were 
31022022. As collected by NOAA/SWPC the 3 hour Kp (planetary) intervals were 
31012122.

The Dst ranged between -3 and -27.

Via SOHO and sollen.info the maximum and minimum solar wind values were 
323-381.

Via NOAA the maximum background x-ray solar flux value was B3.8.
