Thanks for your concern and prayers for Phil Bytheway. This update on Phil's situation was posted on Facebook by Phil's friend Scott Sheridan on Friday afternoon (12-14).

Update on Phil Bytheway's surgery from his wife Sherry: Far beyond what we ask or even think!!!!!!! Phil made it thru the surgery so fast that when I got what was supposed to be an update call, she said they were closing and the surgeon would be out to talk to me. Boy did that scare me! I thought maybe they ran into a problem and couldn't finish..they had predicted 4 to 8 hour surgery...first cut ...
9:30, ending at 12:10pm or so. God is SO AWESOME!!! Thanks to all who prayed and lifted us up. He's still in ICU, still has hurdles to surmount...needs better pain control, to breathe on his own without the ventilator...but his feet and hands moved and he responded some to verbal commands! They did not even have to do a transfusion!!! Unbelieveably blessed by our Great Physician guiding the surgeons hands and giving them incredible skill. To God be thanks & glory.
