Listened from 1416-1544 with a break in between. Conditions improved around sunrise with China 639 & not recently heard DRPK on 657 coming up with audio.  774 JOUB with last minutes of Music box sign off followed by open carrier at 1545 utc. A decent morning for TP's in December.  Did not DX last year on this date.

209    ALASKA, Yakataga, CYT 1417 fair signal with weather forecast. HPAW. 12/16/2012 


279    RUSSIA, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Radio Rossii 1415 good signal with  woman in Russian. HPAW 12/16/2012


594    JAPAN, Tokyo, JOAK NHK1 1419 weak signal with woman in Japanese. NW ewe. 12/16/2012


603    REPUBLIC OF KOREA, Seoul, HLSA 1537 assuming the station with weak signal with talk over China. W-SW-ewe. 12/16/2012


639    CHINA, Beijing, 1526-1529 weak signal with woman in Chinese. NW ewe. 12/16/2012

657    DPR OF KOREA, Pyongyang, 1540 briefly with very weak signal, woman in Korean. Moderate splatter. Not heard recently. W-SW ewe. 12/16/2012 


774    JAPAN, Akita, JOUB NHK2 1350 weak signal with man in Japanese. NW ewe. Good signal at 1542-1544  with music box sign off. W-SW ewe. 12/16/2012
