[IRCA] TP for 8 Nov 2012; Victoria version

That was the morning that just wouldn't quit.  It wasn't equivalent to being
right at the coast, but it was sure a nice surprise to find audio on so many
channels between 1400 and past 1500UTC, fully expecting them to fade away at any
moment, but it not happening.  Some of the big guns may have been stronger than
I describe them below, as I was too busy chasing smaller fry.  The downside was
that there seemed to be a lot of domestic splash; time to adjust the termination
on the antenna again?  (now, lunch break is over; back to work)



pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

747 JOIB man and woman in JJ, maybe a dramatic piece, as there was the sound of
horses' hooves in the background; 1438UT
774 JOBB as above, very splashy though; NHK ID by man at 1440UT





reasonable audio  at  times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

828 JOBB woman in EE talking about corruption and politicians 1418UT, noted even
stronger later in passing.
954 JOKR man in JJ 1431UT, better readability than its carrier strength would
indicate
1287 JOHR man in JJ 1425
1566 HLAZ likely, man talking, thought KK at first, but as it faded sounded more
CC, so not sure; maybe listen more to the recording


not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK man in JJ 1421, NHK1 theme mx followed by man saying "konbonwa"
972 HLCA woman in KK 1421UT
1179 JOOR man and woman in JJ 1443UT
1242 JOLF woman talking slowly //1332
1323 CRI?  talk noted here 1502-1505UT
1332 JOSF instrumental mx followed by woman talking slowly (unusual on JJ
commercial stations) //1242, All Night Nippon; should check a few more channels
on the recording!


Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

279 R. Rossii, man in RR 1429UT
558 man talking 1439UT; couldn't tell from cadence whether JJ or KK.
567 JOIK man talking //594 1438UT
603 man talking, seemed more KK than CC? then operatic singing by man, but not
the same station, 1457UT
621 instrumental mx 1456UT, no success w/parallels
648 man talking 1504UT
657 man holding forth, N. Korean cadence at 1457UT
666 JOBK man talking seemed //594, 1442UT
702 rough carrier (N. Korea?), man talking but too splashy to tell if //NHK2; 1424UT
864 man talking 1444UT
873 JOGB woman talking then man //774 at 1503UT
891 JOHK man talking 1455UT seemed //594; more interesting was SE Asian sounding
stringed mx on channel, but no IDs, yet.
909 man talking 1447UT, faded quickly, no time to grab a parallel; worth looking
at the recording
936 Anhui? CC sounding man talking 1507UT
945 CNR1.  Man and woman in CC //6125 1424UT
1008 man talking 1445UT
1017 man talking briefly 1429UT, CRI usual visitor here, but couldn't get SW//
in time
1143 woman talking, CC cadence (Taiwan?) 1436UT
1314 JOUF? man talking, JJ cadence 1440UT
1422 JORF? man talking in 1420 splash, JJ cadence 1449UT
1503 JOUK man talking, seemed //594, 1451UT
1557 likely Family Radio; man talking at 1458UT, then organ mx, further talk
seemed to have an EE cadence?
1575?  I'm sure it was in there somewhere, but never noted it down in the
chasing around!
1593 CNR-1/NHK2 pips from both China and Japan at 1500UT, but CC talk and CNR
news sounder after hour //6125






Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

738, 918 (several carriers), 1188 (maybe a man talking at 1450UT), 1269, 1359
