Good job Tim. Lets hope next time there's a little more oomph from 657 and you can get audio. No one to my knowledge in the eastern part of the midwest like us has had audio from NZ in decades. A shame to have a strong enough carrier for audio and not hear any, but perhaps their modulation was a bit low at the time.
I'll be trying some mornings later in the week when I get home. My FLG100LN has arrived from Wellbrook and seems to solve the low band sensitivity issues that my Double KAZ has, although I may end up preferring BOGs (more narrow beam) aimed right at NZ/Aus but only have about 360 ft of room here in IL that way and it is a bit noisy to run antennas that way.
My WI spot is superior for TP's being more remote from some pests and very quiet and having a 485 ft BOG about 240-245 degrees. I had 675 almost strong enough for audio there 2 years back.
re: 612 (which is ruined by WTMJ) in WI, I had a carrier almost strong enough for audio several years back on 612 from IL on the West BOGs but someone's IBOC came on and wrecked any chance.
re: 760 KKZN ..they were often heard in Aug sometimes o/u back nulled WJR, but I think not on day rig as they seemed stronger when heard in late Aug pre-Denver SS and I think they switched. Perhaps their night pattern is a bit out of whack or perhaps, they are putting day rig back on too early like some stations do.
re: 750.. where's SK's CK-750? Are they sometimes off in the wee hours of the morning? I recall spending lots of time on 750 looking for AK the morning Japan was in a couple seasons ago, and suddenly CK-750 popped on out of no where burying weak talk that I hoped was AK but that actually was heard to be Utah another morning.
