[IRCA] TP August 31, 2012 / Victoria version

I'm glad Walt didn't find much to listen to this morning, as I thought my antenna had fallen down, and the feedline was tuned to 1566kHz. Not sure why it was so poor, as the geomagnetic indicators were quiet, and Dennis can't be stealing all the signals, as he gets them a little bit after we do.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

nope

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

1566 HLAZ woman talking in JJ just after 1230 pattern change, several times at this level up to about 1240UT, then poorer levels of audio, and down to carrier, some reprises to slightly better levels of audio at 1307 and as late as 1320UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

279 R. Rossii pips at 1300UT, man talking; only on ALA100, too weak and noisy on the Flag

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

153 R. Rossii?; talk at 1301 , could have been //279; just on ALA100
738 woman talking 1317UT, but couldn't guess the language

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

594 612 774 828 1053 1575

best wishes,

Nick
