[IRCA] TP's & DU's for Tuesday, August 14, 2012

Good conditions this morning.  TP's were heard well for mid August.  South Korea on 972, never heard in August before at any of my locations.  Just before sunrise the
DU's appeared with a tentative reception of New Zealand on 675.  Assuming 2NR on
738 after Tahiti faded out.  Sure sounds like a open carrier covering Tahiti's signal around 1256 utc.  Have noticed this condition the past few mornings. With DU reception on the lower channels I did not have time to check upper channels for DU's.  Would have been a great morning at Greyland or the Oregon Cliffs!

153     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1205-1210 good signal with man in Russian followed by                   American Blues song.
180     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1228 heard on second scan of long-band with fair                       signal.
189     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1212 fair signal with American Blues song.
279     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1213 weak signal with American Blues song followed by
                man in Russian.
675     VIETNAM? 1242 very weak signal with man speaking in ? Slight domestic                         splatter on this channel.
675     NEW ZEALAND, RNZ National 1258-1311 very weak signal with woman in English.                     1307 music. Signal fading at 1310. Woman voice seemed to match
live stream.  Tentative reception. SW ewe.
738     TAHITI, Radio Polynesie 1245-1247 steady S-9 signal, but audio is poor like
yesterday's morning reception. 1256 Sounds like another station with
                open carrier over Tahiti's signal.
738     AUSTRALIA, 2NR 1315-1316 believed to be the station with weak signal and
man in English.  In for 2 minutes then faded.  Best on SW ewe.
774     JAPAN, NHK2 JOUB 1248 fair signal with some splatter and man in Japanese.
828     JAPAN, NHK2 JOBB 1251-1254 weak signal with Japanese male speaker.  DU                       station heard under JOBB briefly with woman speaking in English.
972     REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLCA 1217 very weak signal with woman in Korean. Moderate
splatter, signal up to weak at 1219-1222 with man speaking.
1053    REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 1223 jammer on top of channel with fair signal.
1566    REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ 1215 fair signal with man in Chinese.  Some                           splatter.
1575    THAILAND, VOA 1225 steady fair signal with woman in Asian language.

Best regards,
