Ah yes, the DX urge vs. family. Tough call. It was only my wife and I in Maine and she's VERY patient. Were the boys still young I'd not be DXing … I'd be coaching little league baseball or something instead. ;-)
Good luck with your travel to Ecuador. Family first, then DXing.
