Hello Bert,
The list of approved Ultralight radios with synchronous detection is
very short-- actually zero. It was one of the deal-breaking functions
(along with SSB capability) that the organizers of the Ultralight Radio
community (John Bryant, me and others) thought would detract from the
challenge of pocket radio DXing.
The Classification Criteria have not met with universal approval over
the past four years, but the majority of our Ultralightdx Yahoo group
membership understands the need for guidelines that set up a pocket
radio DXing challenge, and the need to rely on propagation knowledge
and patience for DXing success (as opposed to relying on a
"communications receiver in your hand"). This focus has been essential
in creating the booming Yahoo group that we currently enjoy, with
1,175 members around the world.

Gary,
While we're on the subject of Ultralights, what models feature
Synchronous
Detection? I think the G3 has it, but I don't know right off the top of
my head.
I'll bet you have a list somewhere...
