[IRCA] 780 Maine adventure!

I had an interesting one last night.
Tuning around the band, I hear a station playing grandad pop on 780.
It was about 6:45 pm - too early for WBBM Chicago to be in so strong - and it was the wrong format.
They were playing Petula Clark's 'Round Every Corner.'
I hear a promo for Imus In The Morning on 'LA's WEZR 1240.'
I knew this couldn't be Los Angeles!
Later, some ads mentioned towns like Lewiston and Rumford.
It was actually WTME 780 Rumford, ME that sometimes simulcasts WEZR 1240 Lewiston, ME
when they have nothing better to run.
LA is actually Lewiston - Auburn (yet another Maine city.)
I'm guessing WTME was still on their daytime 10kW power.
They were way too strong and dominant to have been on 18 watts night power.
There was not even a hint of co-channel WXME 780 Monticello, ME
owned and operated by the legendary Al Weiner of Radio NewYork International fame.
Two stations on 780 in Maine: WTME and WXME. 
OK, I get the ME thing, but jeez these are close.
Another fun day with the car radio....
Not every day you pull in Maine!
