[IRCA] TP's for 09/06/11




 A lot of static crashes on long-wave this morning.  Mongolia 209 with steady weak signal
was a surprise.  Believed I heard Hawaii this morning.  1500 kHz with ESPN Sports,
listened for about 20 minutes to a weak to fair signal at times.  No call letters heard.


153     Russia, Radio Rossii 1234 solid S-4 signal with jazz music.
180     Russia, Radio Rossii 1138 good with American Blues music.
189     Russia, Radio Rossii 1139 good S-9 signal with American Blues music.
209     Mongolia, Mongolyn Radio 1142 steady weak signal with woman/man talking.
234     Russia, Radio Rossii 1146 very weak with man in Russian.
279     Russia, Radio Rossii 1147 S-9+25 db with American Blues music.
603     Republic of Korea, 1321 believed to be the station with very weak signal with music.
657     New Zealand Southern Star 1322-1327 weak with instrumental music.
657     DPR of Korea, 1326 rose above Southern Star with woman in Korean.
693     Japan, JOAB 1329 weak with splatter and man in Japanese.
747     Japan, JOIB 1307 weak with a ton of KXL splatter.
735     Unknown, 1308 two carriers here, strongest around level 5.
774     Japan, JOUB 1253 weak with much splatter.

792     Unknown, 1309 level 5 carrier.  
828     Japan, JOBB 1310 weak with man in Japanese.  Fair with 1334 with Chinese Lessons.
1053    Korea's 1312 jammer on top of channel with weak signal.
1134    Japan, JOQR 1314 assuming JOQR with very weak signal. 
1500    Hawaii? KHKA 1340-1345 weak to fair with men talking football (Colts).
           1346 Motel 6 commercial.   ESPN radio ID.  Faded out around 1400.  
1566   Republic of Korea, 1258 good S-9+20 db signal. 

1575   Thailand, VOA 1300 good "Welcome to the Voice of America in Vietnamese" ID.
