[IRCA] West Michigan DX log 9/5/2011

DXing from West Michigan - times/dates in UTC

MW:

640 KFI Los Angeles, CA. - 1000 UTC 9/1/11 - KFI popping in under mostly
WOI with a brief but positive ID at TOH "KFI...talk station...with the
most frequent...downtown LA..." Relog but always great to hear KFI
here. Heard again with news and traffic on 9/5/11 @ 1102 UTC.
(TROMP-MI)

660 KSKY Balch Springs, TX. - 1100 UTC 9/1/11 - TOH ID with slogan
"Newstalk 660" and "K-Sky", faded up at TOH with legal ID but generally
under more dominant XEEY. New log. (TROMP-MI)

690 XEN México D.F - 1058 UTC 9/1/11 - Strong and dominant with Mexico
national anthem and into long TOH ID by slow speaking SS announcer
"ay-kees ey ey-nay", "Grupo Radio Centro", rooster call. Relog but
never this strong. (TROMP-MI)

Interesting DU or TP hets, all noticed between 1100-1130 UTC 9/5/11,
first DU/TP audio I have ever heard here and new territory for me:

612 - Het
657 - Het
684 - Het
693 - Het, very weak

701.996 - Peaking to threshold audio at 1120 UTC, with what I "think"
could have been an Australian accented male voice and a tiny fragment
of a sentence that I could have probably confirmed via a remote
receiver (wishing I could take my recording and travel back in time!)
The signal faded and the fun was gone by 1130 UTC. WLW phased way
down. (TROMP-MI)

738 - Peaking to threshold audio at 1112 UTC, talking heard but
nothing identifiable and het mostly gone by 1123 UTC. Bad splatter
from WRPQ making this one difficult. (TROMP-MI)

882 - Het

TA:

1566 - 0500 UTC 9/5/11 - Het noted here peaking strong for short
durations, just shy of producing audio. Presumed TWR Benin via gray line
enhancement. (TROMP-MI)
