Re: [IRCA] noise issue update

I have CFLs in my radio room and they don't generate noise. They are the
single bulb replacements. I also have some that are inside of the larger
flood type lights and those do emit noise. So those go off when listening.

The reason the power companies want us to switch is they can only produce so
much electricity and they're running out of capacity. So instead of building
new power plants they're trying to reduce consumption per household so that
they can build more homes and still provide service. It's not really about
us saving money.

I have also noticed that they don't last that long. I just hope most people
will dispose of them properly and I also hope that they find something
better in the future.
