They're still there, actually...but you have to look for "DWDOD" to find them.

As anyone who's seen "The Princess Bride" knows, there are two kinds of dead..."mostly dead" and "all dead," and stations that are just "mostly dead" (in the database but with a D in front of the callsign) can sometimes be resurrected if the lawyers know what they're doing. When the DWxxx entry disappears from the database completely, then it's all dead and there's nothing even Miracle Max can do...
