I still get XEROK and XERF on a consistent basis, but the station I'm
struggling
to hear nowadays -- one that use to rule 540 at night - is XEWA! Wonder
what in
the world happened, if their ground system is deteriorating, or if they
are
simply running less wattage now than in the old days.

No wonder I never hear XEROK. For some reason I never realized XEROK was
not operating with the same power. I guess I never checked. The same was
true with XERF 1570 for years, running about 18 KW if lucky until a few
years ago when they boosted to 100 KW, now they are a pest on 1570 that
used to be a great DX frequency off the beverage, after BC & AB moved to
FM. I got FL, IL, etc. Now I get XERF, CKMW, and sometimes SD. That is
about it. A DX test would work well as morse code would cut through XERF
easy enough. But XERF is just strong enough to mess up the frequency
here and I cannot even get them to QSL! I have tried for years and
years.
