[IRCA] Noise Cancelling Headphones OT

As many of you know, I live in a very windy area on the Northern Oregon
coast. Often the high winds will wake me up in the midde of the night
and I cannot get back to sleep. I tried ear plugs and other things, but
being a DXer with acute hearing doesn't help. hi. A friend suggested
Noice Cancelling phones, but knew little about them and how they work.
Does anyone know anything about them and what brands I can look at?  I
checked with BestBuy in Portland. They have Sony's for $45 all the way
up to Bose for $300. Any suggestions? Thanks.
