Heard KKOW 860 KS with tornado warnings and other bad weather ancts last
night per tip on a couple lists. Common here when cx are good or when
station is on day power, which it obviously was given the situation.
This morning was superb in the two hours after sunrise. 1450 Fond du Lac
WI
KFIZ is becoming a proverbial pest, and was in for much of two hours
post-sunrise. 1490 the same with Duluth MN, in solidly the various times I
checked 1490 from before 0800 to 1000 EST. Your home for the wild...the
Fan
1490..." May also have had Alexandria MN there, have some tape listening
to
do, and web research.
WOBT Rhinelander WI on 1240 with ESPN. Winona MN KWNO 1230. The Talk of
Winona. 1450 KFIZ gave way briefly to Marshfield, and and ID which I
recall
was KVLB, though I need to recheck the NRC log as I forgot to write down
the
calls. It's taped, anyhow.
That's four new, plus a bunch of ads I have yet to check on Google, and
also
some more possible taped IDs - or what sounded like IDs, for some maybe
additional stations. Graveyarders are fun to work when cx are good. I've
had
pretty well all the regional stations for WI and the easy-moderate catches
from MN. Actually, when I am working a channel like 1420, I want an
eastern
time zone time-check, not a central one, as I've had MN IA and WI there
(KTOE Mankato is a pest there), but still need the two closer-in ones from
MI.
Would have had even more, but when I went to put out the garbage, I left
the
door open for a minute and a bat flew in. That surprised me, that it'd be
flying around outside with sub-freezing temps and during daylight. Anyhow
I
stunned it with a broom and put it back where it belongs. (Happily for
both
of us, it survived its ordeal).
