I got up early enough to listen in real time today. Which was fortunate because a computer issue prevented the SDR from recording. I guess it's time to dump Vista and try Windows 7.
HLAZ-1566 had by far the best signal, and the only one that was consistently readable. It seems to have fixed its audio problems from last season.
Several others produced decent audio at times, but the strength was very much inconsistent.
A few frequencies like 801 and 1431 produced tantalizing hets (see below). No audio was noted, but they might be worth watching as conditions pick up in the coming weeks
Here are the stations that were noted from 1320 to 1335 UT
Good audio, completely or mostly understandable by a native speaker, if only briefly
774 JOUB
972 Korea (second best)
1206 China (briefly)
1566 HLAZ (the best)
Fair audio, some of it understandable by a native speaker, if only briefly
594 Japan
693 Japan
747 Japan
Weak audio, recognizable content but not quite readable
828 presumed JOBB
1134 Talk
1332 Japan
1422 Japan
1475 presumed Sabah, with het from 1476
Carriers & hets, some with real or imaginary traces of audio
549, 567, 621, 639, 648, 738, 756 (trace audio), 801, 909, 936 (audio traces), 981, 1053, 1179, 1269 (nothing noted on 1278/1287), 1431(a screamer), 1575
