Listened from 1245 to 1300UT, and not that much different from yesterday. HLAZ peaked fairly well again at 1250UT, but that was it for anything listenable. I wasn't at home last year at this time, but looking over old e-mails sure makes it look like things were a fair bit livelier then. (mind you, some of that was from John Bryant's big antennas over on Orcas Island)
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
none
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
HLAZ-1566 w/man in JJ at 1250UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker
none
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :
279 presumed R. Rossii
774 JOUB; by inflection of language and direction; pips noted at 1300UT
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):
1287, Asiatic; 738, 1098 DU
best wishes,
Nick
