This is exactly the one I bought on eBay a few years ago. I right away put the batteries in, but no audio. Holding the speaker to my ear, I can hear the faint "white noise" when I turn it on, so I know the battery connection is working. A pity, as it had never been used. Still in the original box (torn badly, though) with original packing material. Warranty still there with "Boston 17, Mass." address. On the rear of the radio, it says "GENUINE TOP GRAIN COWHIDE HAND SADDLE STITCHED." Pristine brown leather shining like it's 1961. Carrying strap tight as a drum and lying nearly parallel to the top of the receiver. It's obviously never been used, so I can't figure why there's no sound. 12-614K is the number on the schematic. Well, the schematic is starting to deteriorate (brittle, torn, wrinkled) so I guess it's technically not stone mint. Anyone know of a radio museum or somesuch that would be interested in acquiring it for a reasonable fee? Seeing as how the!
later models of the Realistic TRF were so famous? Maybe they'd want it for display only, and the fact that it won't play wouldn't matter? It may be the only mint copy extant, but I don't have the technical knowhow to fix it, and it's just been sitting in the closet for the past three years.
