[IRCA] TP for 7 Nov from Victoria, BC

Started listening around 1425 today, and there was maybe a small sunrise enhancement. The Japanese big guns needed time to find a worthwhile signal strength, but there wasn't much else in their place. May have had Farda on 1575, but nothing like yesterday. Overall, quite a number of audios but not a lot of memorable ones; still maybe a bit better overall strength than yesterday though.

Oh yes, 648 seems very likely to be VoR between 1400 and 1500UT in spite of the schedule. It was noted this morning //5930 w/CC talk by woman along with vocal mx, at 1450.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

279 R. Rossii
594 JOAK , something underneath
603 light instrumental mx //558, o/ two other stations, at 1448UT
747 JOIB
774 JOUB
828 JOBB, something underneath

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker,
though often battling w/splash or noise):

612 slow singing at 1454UT, not heard on N. Flag, so 4QR?? faded under JOLK //594 very shortly afterward
648 VoR //5930
738 woman in CC at 1503, no luck w/possible 1143 parallel
873 JOGB //828
936 likely Anhui in CC, clear signal at 1455UT
972 HLCA
1134 KBS //972 at 1502, o/CNR-1, and way under, JJ talk
1323 CRI at 1456, no parallel on 963 at the time which had something weak, seemed not //594, though NHK pips on hour there
1575 VoA but R. Farda tentatively heard at times on N. Flag as well
1593 //5030

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker

153 R. Rossii //279
549 //576 Mayak at 1432UT
558 HLQH //603
567 JOIK //594, but often a mix of two stations
639 CNR-1 //5030
693 JOAB //774 at 1520, best w/west Flag (better null on CBU-690)
756 not //5030 (S. Korea?)
1503 JOUK //594 at 1515
1512 CC talk by woman at 1514UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

702 hum,but audio unreadable
855 hum, w/N. Korea per parallel, and something else?
864 continuing big carrier, tiddly audio
1206 likely Yanbian
1377 //5030 so CNR-1; later on
1521 brief mumbling at 1514; bears watching
1584 seemed //594 at 1517UT, so NHK-1 synchros

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

1566 big carrier.....they really need to fix the modulation...

best wishes,

Nick
