Re: [IRCA] California teacher inspires a new generation.

One of my junior high school teachers (we're talking serious ancient history here; I'll be 54 next month) taught an amateur radio class so that's how I got interested in amateur radio and radio communications. The objective was to learn the Morse code and electronic theory needed to get the Novice Class amateur radio license. I passed the test the first time; I was 13 years old. They let him put up some really good HF antennas at the school and we had QSOs (contacts) with amateur radio stations all over the world. These days I'll bet that isn't very common.
