Just a heads up. CBC Windsor (Ontario) AM broadcast stations are moving to FM and the AM transmitters will soon be shut down. No exact date announced by the CBC but CRTC approval has been given to move the AM stations to FM.

Both the CBE 1550 khz, english language service, and the CBEF 540 khz, french language service transmitters will be shutting down in the near future. I'm guessing later this summer or perhaps by the fall. Again, no idea of an exact date but the CBC is working on this issue.

Note that while both CBE and CBEF are installing FM transmitters in Windsor,
only CBE is going off the air.

The FM transmitters were approved as "nested" transmiters last year:

<http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2008/db2008-102.htm>

in which case both CBE and CBEF would remain on air. Later, CBC
made the decision to take CBE off the air and replace it with an
transmitter in Leamington as well as the one in Windsor:

<http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2009/2009-349.htm>

However CBEF will remain on AM - the coverage they get from being on
540 is amazing for 2.5 kW, covering all of southwestern Ontario, which
would require several FM transmitters to replace, not just the one
at Windsor which is being built on 105.5
