Re: [IRCA] KOMO 1000 not 24h

One of my favorite Monday morning sign offs to listen to when I was a kid was KOMO 1000...Unfortunately I never managed to log WCFL or WMVP here in Southern CA (YET!)--Mike Sanburn

Since I am usually asleep around 0700 UT, I do not know when KOMO has been shitting down, but they were certainly off by 0800. Yesterday they were still off at 1100, and I do not know when they have been signing on in the morning. So here, now (0854 on 30 April) I have Winnipeg on 990 and Calgary on 1010 and on a very weak station in Spanish on 1000 kHz. WMVP in Chicago is hardly audible, and I wondered why until I checked the latter's nighttime antenna pattern:

See if it`s // 6010. If you can get past that, there is a 200 kW in Brasil and a 50 kW in Colombia on 1000 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
