[IRCA] ULTRALIGHT DX........2 NEW GRAVEYARDERS @ SUNSET tonight!!!......ON SRF-39FP HOT ROD FRANKEN-ULR!!
Hello Guys:
Yesterday I received in the mail a NEW ULR for my Stable of
Receivers!! Thanks to GARY DEBOCK...I am now the Proud owner of a SONY
SRF-39 FP HOTRODDED PRISON RADIO!!! This is one of Gary's experimental
ULR's that sports a 7 1/2 Inch Hotrodded Ferrite Antenna mounted on the
now famous Prison ULR ......replacing the original Tiny Ferrite antenna
the radio came with.
I have nicknamed this Radio the FRANKEN-ULR....as it looks a bit like
Frankenstein's Head with the Bolts protruding from his neck!! HAHAHA. It
is one cool looking Machine!!!!
Tonight at sunset I tried it out to see what it will do. It is VERY
Sensitive.......and pulls out Daytime DX like nobody's business!!!
I sat on 1340 Khz for about 1/2 Hour tonight and just waited to see what
would surface. Well....I was rewarded with 2 NEW Stations for the ULR
LOG...and one of those is NEW to the OVERALL LOG as well!!! These are
ULR GRAVEYARDER's # 64 and 65 as well.
So...anytime I can add 2 new ones to the ULR LOG.......that is a good
day!! I'm happy to add FRANKIE to the Family of ULR's here......and I
guess I have to give GARY an ASSIST on these 2 NEW LOGGINGS!! I believe
there are only 3 of these Radios in existence.....'cause Gary says
that's all he made!! I'm glad to adopt this one as my own!! I'm DXing
with an ANALOG DIAL AGAIN!!! Gotta love it!!
