[IRCA] TP for 16 Feb from Victoria, BC
Started listening just before 1400UT, and suspect that some of my impression
that this morning was better than the last few days, is due to the earlier start
time. Things were generally stronger then, and seemed to fade somewhat by 1430.
However, did hear Russians on 549 and 576 just before 1500UT as well and that's
pretty unusual.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):
594 JOAK
747 JOIB at 1411UT
774 JOUB
828 JOBB
972 HLCA 1403UT
reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or
noise):
279 R. Rossii at 1414UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:
567 JOIK // 594 at 1423UT, though at 1415 it didn't seem //, even if the
inflection of the woman talking sounded JJ??
603 HLSA //558 at 1453, with something else under
639 CNR-1 //5030 at 1413UT
666 JOBK man in JJ //594 at 1404UT
693 JOAB //774 at 1422; lots of 690 splash
981 CNR-1 //5030 at 1401UT
1008 music from Asian direction at 1422
1134 JOQR, JJ talk at 1403, then later, S.Korea //972
Burbles in the splatter and noise:
531 JOQG seemed //594 at 1414, yet at 1427, rhythmic mx heard not //594, likely
Asian as heard on N. Flag
549 RR inflected talk by woman //576 at 1457UT; first time heard this season?
558 JJ inflected talk, JOCR? 1402, but at 1453 was S. Korea //603
648 likely Russia
738 music w/Asian direction
864 at 1358, just mx, soon faded
927 unID, man talking at 1421, could have been JJ, but gone too quickly to grab
parallel
936 Anhui? various times
945 CNR-1 //5030 at 1424
1242 mx at 1451UT, likely JOLF
1287 likely JOHR
1377 CNR-1 seemed //5030
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 612DU,
657 and 855, both with hum, likely N. Korea, 1143, 1422
best wishes,
Nick
