Hello Craig
The PERSEUS power pack is quiet. I had an electrical noise but it was from my laptop power pack. I now record using an external battery giving me 6 hours of quiet recording. I get 4 from the external battery and 2 from the onboard laptop battery. PERSEUS is very greedy hi!

If you are thinking of a battery and inverter to 120vac, it may not work.
I've tried a number of them and they crank out a lot of noise. When I run
the 750w converter in my truck it puts spurs and hash across the whole band.
I have been reading about 12v battery powered computers. These run
directly off the battery and don't do a 12vdc to 120vac to required
computer
power conversion. I'd like to see one in person and check the noise
generated. It would be *very* useful to have a permanently installed mobile
computer in the truck. Mostly for work purposes, but running an SDR would
be great.
If the Perseus runs off 12vdc directly, using a UPS battery would work well.
They are easy to move, don't leak and recharge easily off a common 12vdc
power supply. Radio Shack sells a 12v 7amp-hour battery for about $30.
Having equipment that runs right off the battery is the best.
I have a yellow top Optima deep cycle as the second battery in my
truck. Runs the radio and auxiliary heater. The heater is the same one
that truckers use in their sleeper. Espar Airtronic D2. Keeps the truck
comfortable without running the engine.
