[IRCA] TP for 20 Jan from Victoria, BC
started listening around 1430UT, on and off for the until 1600. Reception didn't seem as good as yesterday, though was able to get brief bits of reasonable audio on a number of the big guns, almost all Japanese. One exception to the past couple of weeks was 774 and 828 still fading up to somewhat readable audio as late as 1600UT and sign off. 774 had a pretty fair signal through much of the chimes until 1605.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):
none
reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK at 1533 and 1542
747 JOIB at 1535UT
774 JOUB at 1445UT, 1555UT and other times
828 JOBB various times after 1530UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:
567 JOIK //594 at 1540UT
972 HLCA likely at 1556UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise:
279 earlier;
1566 at 1610UT, but just a big carrier earlier, and mostly not even that
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 1134
best wishes,
Nick
