Yes, Bill lived in Portland at the time, the East side near 82nd.
KKEE is located at 15th in downtown Astoria on the Columbia River. I
went right by the tower yesterday as I do all of the time. KKEE is poor
once you get 20 miles or so inland, unless you are on the coast, then
the signal carries nicely up and down the coast. The same is true with
the other stations along the OR/WA coasts. They don't seem to skip over
the Coastal Range all too well. With KKEE phased here Toledo & Coos Bay
are common.
