[IRCA] TP for 23Nov08 from Victoria: Conditions down!
I listened between 14:46 and 15:55 (and still listening). Things never really took off this morning. I mostly listened to the top of the band and worked down. Plenty of audio, but most were at pretty weak levels. Nothing came across really strong unlike the past few mornings. Best of the bunch, surprisingly was CRI in Russian at 1323. For a while, I was wondering if this was Russian International Radio, since they weren't // to the usual 963, but then they improved and gave a good ID at 15:25. Here are my results from the top down, with "6" unless otherwise noted (denoting something there, but unable to ascertain any content or even the language):
1593, 1584
1575 VOA at 7
1566: HLAZ at 7 to 8. Still audible at 16:00
1539, 1503, 1494, 1476, 1422, 1386
1377: CNR1 at 15:13 //5030
1332
1323: CRI RR at 8 level. Nice ID at 15:26. Not // to 963, so the latter must be someone else today.
1305
1287 8 level for JOHR at 15:28
1278: 2 cochannels at 15:29 at 7 level.
1269: strong carrier and weak audio. Not sure who?
1242, 1233, 1224, 1188, 1143, 1134, 1116, 1098, 963, 918
828: 7.5 level for NHK2 at 15:44
774: 7 level NHK2
747: 8 level NHK2 at 15:45 ...strongest JJ today (besides 1287)
666, 567
That's it for the morning....lacklustre to say the least. I was hoping for some TA activity this morning, but no such luck!........Walt Salmaniw, Victoria,BC.
