Re: [IRCA] Sony Voice Recorder

Interesting, Gary...

The few times that I've recorded from my Ultralights barefoot or with the Slider, Barefoot, I've had NO TROUBLE with my Edirol R09, as long as it was 6" or so from the ferrite bar. Sounds to me like they may have some different parts in them, yours and mine. I'd been meaning to say something to you about that..... one other possible difference is that the patch cord I always use between the R09 and anything has a fairly large lump of ferrite as a choke on that line. Have you tried a choked patch cord with yours????

Hello Guy,

Thanks for the tip, and I'll have to check out the software you
recommended to convert the WAV files to mp3's.

I tried using the Edirol R09 to record directly from the Ultralights,
and it was "hash city," completely covering up the DX signals even with 3 feet
of separation between the radio and the R09. The Sony ICD-SX57 produces
crystal-clear recordings of Ultralight DX, but the WAV files are not very
convenient.
