Re: [IRCA] TPs Nov 3 + IBOC Interference with TPs.

Thanks to Colin and Patrick both for sharing their lists.....

Maybe the increase that I'm seeing from this summer is just in my head, or maybe it is just the better conditions affecting SRS, too.

Thank god for sideband reception!!!

John,

I don't see any new IBOCers of late in the NW, but here, unless I phase
the SW with the NW EWE to give me a Northern lobe, I get nasty IBOC from
the Bay area. Here is a list of the IBOCers that I know of.

590-Spokane
650-Sacramento
670-Boise (Days only)
730-Boise
740-SF
770-Riverbank CA(Bay area) (IBOC off?)
790-Spokane (nulls this area, no issue)
850-Tacoma (IBOC off?)
910-Oakland CA
940-Fresno CA (?)
950-Roseburg OR (NPR)
960-Oakland CA
970-Modesto
1040-Portland OR
1160-SLC (Real pest)
1190-Portland (Pest)
1230-Medford OR (NPR)
1250-Seattle (Disney)
1250-Pullman WA (NPR)
1330-Portland
1340-Tumwater WA (NPR)
1470-Sacramenton (No issue)
1490-Yreka CA (NPR)
1530-Sacramento CA (Super IBOC pest)
1640-Portland (Disney)

Those are the ones I can think of. I may have missed sone. I did not
include So Cal, as they are far enough away. But except for 1040
Portland, the rest have been IBOC for sometime. But here, it takes that
sharp phase to rid myself of most of the IBOC. There is a lot in North
CA that I get otherwise. Those little graveyarders like 1230, 1340, and
1490 can mess up a split easily. Only running 10 watts of IBOC (1%)
still gets out well. Tumwater 1340 does QRM 1350 here during the day. I
can hear the 1230 IBOC at night on 1240 and the same on 1480/1500 from
1490. Not strong running low power, but still it is there especially on
nything weak. Off the Eastern beverage, I now only have the lower SB I
can DX on 1330 and 1340 Tumwater does enough damage to mess up the upper
SB.
Most see IBOC going away in time, but who knows when? I don't see a
bunch of new IBOCers coming on. They aren't lined up as I think most
stations feel, it is not worth the $100 grand to make the move as no one
cares and no one is listening. I guess we just have to put up with what
there is and work around it. The East and Midwest is much worse with
IBOC. Fortunately, the NW still is free of most of it. I hope it stays
that way too. If we were not as close to the Bay area, we would get a
lot less noise. But most of the time to rid myself of the IBOC hash, I
just use the NW/N/NE phase. Because of that, I finally nabbed 1260 &
1350 Japan last year that eluded me as I have not the phase in the
past. So I guess the IBOC noise did me some good. hi. Like others, I
think we should all have a party when they turn the last one off!

Patrick
