[IRCA] Orcas TPs for October 15, 2008

It will be interesting to learn what Walt Salmaniw heard in the Charlottes. I did not start until 1355, 35 minutes before LSR. The entire morning would fall in the "low average" category as far as I'm concerned. There were fewer audios on the low band and darn near none above 1100 (1206, 1242, 1269, 1323 CRI RR, 1377 CNR1, 1557, 1566, 1575.) Still, it was a very interesting morning. I think that we are seeing the latter half of the Fall Season begin to kick in. After DXing here with serious antennas for 8 years, I'm seeing a seasonal pattern where the first half of Fall is generally about the Japanese and the latter half is much more about China and (now) Russia. There were times this morning that the CC co-channels of the NHK2 Big Guns were actually dominating the frequencies (1355-1415) and at 1355, 666 was ALL Mayak. By 1400, Mayak and Osaka were both there and at 1410, Osaka was alone on the channel. 540 was a weak CNR1 this AM, 1557 Family Radio was in and 738 Taiwan Fisheries was booming. 675 had two stations neck&neck, pres. Vietnam and Manchuria, though it was impossible for me to sort out. 837 was, I think, the new Fujian Province station, but I'm still not sure... and the 1323 second CNR RR channel //963 was doing very well and is usually a harbinger of the latter part of the Fall Season...

So, it was an interesting morning for what really was a "low average" morning.
