Re: [IRCA] A little nostalgia
I was cleaning out the basement awhile back and found a bunch of reel-
to-reel tapes and some logbooks from the early 70's.
Rather than throw them all away, I digitized the tapes and using the
logbooks am editing stuff into sound bytes.
The results [still in progress] can be found here:

This brings back a lot of memories! I logged many of these stations back in
the Carter administration (1976-80) and Reagan's first term. Back in those
days I could send a report with no other program details except a
word-for-word transcription of the s/off or s/on announcement and get a
verie.
I still have a bunch of cassettes of sunrise/sunset skip, equipment tests,
CPC tests and even proof-of-performance tests from the late 70s and early
80s, but have no way to convert them into mp3's. I know there's no shortage
of digitization software out there, but I have no idea which program works
best, if there are any available for free download, or how to connect the
tape deck to the computer.
