I couldn't cut a deal with the cat and so I actually set the alarm
and W*O*W, I hit my best morning of the last three months! Tuned it
at 1230 and the last audio checked out about 1313 (LSR = 1303).
It was pretty much a low and mid-band opening, with the Asians at
their high point (I assume) when I tuned in.... 594 was a 6, a rarity
for me, even at mid season due to local QRM, the 747 and 774 JJs were
at 9s and 828 was an 8. The 800s and 900s were the most interesting
Asians, with 855.055, the NK, doing an 8+ with militaristic opera,
864 an under-mod Asian, 918 in seeming dialect CC, 945, 963 CRI
Russian service at 8 (30 minutes later, the Kiwi was at 8 here...
neat!) 972 was an under mod 7.
The second tier Asians disappeared fairly quickly, to be replaced by
DUs, which built slowly. Only a few reached 8 (792, 756, 963) but
plenty of them hit 7s at dawn.
Sum total, I had 30 audios below 1000 kHz, about half at least at 7
level + 1017, 1053, 1107, 1287, 1566, 1575 and 1593. All the high
banders were Asian and only at 6.
Quite a morning!
