Re: [IRCA] Aussie QSL Cards?
Patrick and Walt,
Thanks for your comments. Even in Grayland (on seven short trips since
April) Aussie and Kiwi audios were rarely more than just threshold level for
me, and usually only the "big guns," like 567, 612, 657, 702, 738, 774, 891
and 1116.
On one trip (with Guy), no DU audio at all was heard. On three trips,
there was weak audio from a couple of stations at maximum dawn enhancement,
only for about 5 minutes (usually the Kiwis on 567 and 657, for some strange
reason). Two trips provided fair audio from about four stations during
maximum dawn enhancement, lasting about 15 minutes total. The last trip (July 9)
provided solid audio from about seven stations, including a couple of "nine"
signal levels (from 738 and 891), and a couple of "eights" (702 and 774),
during maximum dawn enhancement, lasting over 30 minutes. But the odds are
definitely against that type of special morning, even at Grayland.
Maybe that's why I have a sudden interest in Aussie QSL cards, hi.
73, Gary
