Re: [IRCA] Recemtly

I would guess WIRV has been running day power at night for at least 5 or 6 years. I used to hear them on all my business trips to Atlanta back in 2002-2004. 73 Tim

Hi all !! I've been noticing WIRV  1550 Irvine, Ky.....listed as 5 watts at night....but probably on day power of 1000 watts.....I've been able to hear them five nights in a row here in "The Upstate" of So. Carolina. They ID as "The Tri City AM network ".....have a three city ID with WEKY  1340 Richmond, Ky. and WKXO 1500 in Berea, Ky., a daytimer.  Format is canned/satellite oldies. They all ID frequently. I remember driving thru the area on I-75, south of Lexington and hearing each of them. One of them had terrible sounding phone line audio. ..................Also. I've been hearing an open carrier on 1090 at night lately....which is a very open frequency here. Nobody dominant...occasional WBAL or KAAY.   Still dxing on a Sony Walkman.....and getting ready for the VHF Conteat on the ham bands this weekend !!   73, Chris  K2FO  Taylors, S.C.
